Julie Supports Samaritans Stress Down Day
Julie Morgan, MP for Cardiff North, is encouraging employees in Cardiff to participate in the Samaritans Stress Down Day on Friday, February 1st.
Julie Morgan MP said:
“I’m very pleased that Samaritans is running this campaign to encourage people to relieve a little stress during the workday.
They are encouraging people to switch off their emails for an hour or two, wear slippers to work and create a chill out zone in their offices.
“In my own office, we are going to be taking a little time to have an indoor picnic with tea, coffee and cakes and no talk of work for a short while.
“According to the Samaritans Stressed Out Survey, people find it hard to admit that they are stressed at work and a third of UK workers cannot get to sleep at night because of anxiety. A lot of people find it very hard to switch off when they leave work. All of this takes its toll on people’s emotional health and also affects employee productivity.
“Samaritans provides a wonderful service for people who might feel overwhelmed by work pressure and feel that everything is a little too much -- across the UK, you can ring Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90 at any time, day or night.
“Emotional health is so important, so don’t be distressed, just de-stress!”
