Meeting the Dalai Lama in Westminster in 2008.

 

I have been involved with the APPG for Tibet for a few years now and have worked with them on establishing links with the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile in Dharamsala, India. As part of this work, I have met with Tibetan MPs in Westminster and visited Dharamsala twice to meet with those campaigning for Tibetan autonomy. I have been privileged to meet with His Holiness the Dalai Lama on two occasions and have been impressed by his warmth, intelligence and good humour.

THE STRUGGLE FOR DEMOCRACY IN BURMA

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Presenting a cheque for money raised at the Spotlight on Burma event to Save the Children.

 

I have been involved with the APPG for Democracy in Burma for awhile now and in 2008, organised an event in the Wales Millennium Centre called Spotlight on Burma. The audience of close to 200 heard speakers from the Burma Campaign, Amnesty International Wales and Save the Children about both the human rights situation in Burma and the humanitarian crisis caused by Cyclone Nargis.
