The work of an MP in Parliament is very varied and I work both inside and outside the chamber.
In the House of Commons chamber itself, I get the opportunity to participate in debates on a range of issues and to ask oral questions of government ministers.
Outside of the chamber, I serve on two Select Committees and several All-
I am also a member of the Welsh Group of Labour MPs and an officer in the Parliamentary Labour Party Women’s Group.

If you want to know more about how Parliament works, a lot of valuable information can also be found on the www.parliament.uk website.
If you are a constituent and would like to go on a free tour of the Houses of Parliament and/or visit the public gallery of the House of Commons, please get in touch. I would be happy to arrange this for you – I welcome many individuals and groups to Westminster each year. Please email morganj@parliament.uk or ring (020) 7219 6960.

Note on They Work for You Website
The They Work for You website is a popular site for those looking for information about their local MP. I would like to point out, however, that the site’s summary of my voting record does not always completely and accurately reflect my views on issues.
For example, although I was very strongly against the Iraq war and very strongly for a hunting ban, I was also very strongly for a smoking ban and am very strongly for gay rights as well as measures to stop climate change.
As the They Work for You website itself says: “Our advice — when you're judging your MP, read some of their speeches, check out their website, even go to a local meeting and ask them a question. Use TheyWorkForYou as a gateway, rather than a simple place to find a number measuring competence.” Click here for the full statement and click here to be taken to the They Work For You website.
If you want clarification of my views on any issue, please feel free to contact me.
